Splicer Films is a film production company behind the docuseries Unmasked, which shares powerful stories of hope and resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. I led the development of the brand strategy for both Splicer Films and Unmasked, crafting a cohesive identity and messaging that aligned with the series' inspiring mission. In addition, I designed a suite of promotional materials, including the website, video graphics, email newsletter, film poster, pitch deck, and social media templates. Each piece was created to enhance visibility, foster engagement, and ensure a memorable, unified brand presence across all touchpoints.

Brand Strategy (Messaging + Identity)

Splicer Films is a film production company that reached out to me to build their brand and standardize messaging and identity across digital (website, email, and social) and film. We started completely from scratch.

Problem

As a new film production startup, Splicer Films lacked a cohesive brand strategy to communicate its mission and effectively connect with its audience. Founder Annette King envisioned Unmasked, a docuseries sharing powerful stories of resilience and hope from individuals making impactful changes during the COVID-19 pandemic. To bring this vision to life, Splicer Films needed a distinctive brand identity and a video style guide that would unify their messaging and create a lasting, recognizable presence for both the company and the series..

Challenge

Designing for Splicer Films and its subsidiary brand required thorough research into media companies with multiple brand identities. The challenge was to create a cohesive strategy that unites both brands while also highlighting their unique identities and messaging. This involved balancing the overarching vision of Splicer Films with the distinct narrative of Unmasked, ensuring that each brand resonates with its target audience while maintaining clarity and differentiation.

Brand Identity

The brand identity for Splicer Films and the docuseries Unmasked creates a cohesive and unified presence that embodies the essence of both the film production company and its storytelling mission. The chosen red color serves as the primary brand hue, symbolizing passion, resilience, and hope—key themes that resonate throughout the Unmasked series. This strategic color selection not only reinforces brand recognition but also connects emotionally with audiences, encapsulating the spirit of the stories we aim to share.

Website

After developing the brand strategy, I implemented the new style guide into the website. This website is for Splicer Films to promote their company and latest project. View launched website here.

Problem

Splicer Films had no digital presence. Their website was originally created with Wix. I chose to switch to Squarespace for this project because it’s more customizable, responsive and interactive. There was also no branded experience across touch points of their digital experience.

Splicer Films wants to make a lasting impression telling compelling stories from their subjects in their docuseries.

Solution

Design a fully responsive branded company website to showcase their work and promotional content marketing material. We also wanted to user to experience Splicer Film’s brand message across all digital touch points. We not only wanted a website that is visually appealing but also wanted to tell impactful stories, a seamless user experience, and integrated digital marketing.
